What is the Admission Process For an MBA in IT?

The admission process for the MBA in IT is a three-step process-

1. Firstly, you need to qualify for the entrance exam, most probably the CAT, for admission to the top Indian Institute of Management. Other entrance exams like XAT, SNAP, NMAP, and  GMAT will be taken up for admissions to different institutions. 
2. These entrance exams are conducted every year in the months of November and January.
3. Based on the percentile obtained in these entrance tests, the Institute shortlists students for further rounds of admissions. 
4. Once the students are shortlisted, a calling email is sent to the students to invite them to a group discussion, followed by a personal interview.
5. A final merit list is displayed on the website of the respective Institute.
6. Once the results are out, pay the fee to confirm your admission within the time frame allotted by the college.

Fee Structure

1. The typical fee range for an MBA in IT is around 20 to 25 lakhs for the total course in some of the best Indian Institutes of Management in our country.
2. However, in top private MBA colleges, the fee range would vary from 10 to 25 lakhs for the total course. 
3. There are some cost-effective alternatives as well, such as the Faculty of Management Studies in Delhi University or Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Students from any background holding a Bachelor’s degree can apply for admission to the MBA in IT.
2. There is no upper age limit for an MBA in IT.
3. A student must have secured a minimum percentage of marks in bachelors degree as specified by the respective institutions in their eligibility criterias probably around 50%.
4. Getting a good percentile in one of the entrance exams specified by the institute is another important eligibility criterion.

1. An MBA in IT graduate is available with many career opportunities, as such a person can enter IT companies, such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, etc.
